When it comes to investing, most people assume it’s going to be boring and dry. But I’ve come to find that investing in stocks and/or real estate can actually be easy & fun, even for beginners. I found that with the helpful assistance of investment calculators, you can make your money grow much easier. Of course, it goes without saying you still need knowledge and hard work. If you want to start investing in stocks and real estate but are afraid you’ll fail, trust me, you are not alone. I guess many of us felt the same way. It’s not a bad idea to use return-on-investment calculators, mainly because they can save time on longer runs.
As I dived into the world of investments, it occurred to me to research what app tools might be available to beginners and experts alike – something that we can all use to make our investing portfolios shine without stressing out or breaking the bank. That’s how I came across a website with a Top 10 list that made it easy for me to determine what investment apps would work for my level of expertise, and I hope it does the same for you! I’ve even included a pros and cons list below to see if these apps – my top three favorites – will also be favorites of yours. Robinhood – Rating: 4.8, Downloads: 1M
If you’re looking for something to help you with daily investments, this app can come in handy mainly because you can start without worrying about trading costs. Especially if you’re new to investing and want something that is beginner-friendly, Robinhood is a helpful starting tool for your stock market journey. Although a bit overwhelming at first, having a great source for exclusive market information ended up being quite fruitful. Finally, the interface is simple enough so you can get a hang of stock buying and selling quite easily. And I’ll mention although it’s not crucial, you can suggest someone who might be interested in the app. If they start using, you can receive $500 in stocks. It’s a nice bonus for any beginner.
One thing I should let you know is that first-time users might need to wait a couple days while the bank account links to the app. IT seems this is done in order to verify that all of your information is correct, so you can get the money that you are owed after making successful investments. So waiting for a few days to get extra security is a fair bargain. Luckily, I found that transferring money is a breeze after you pass the check.
Pros: An awesome tool for daily investments with no commission fees
Cons: First-time users experience a bit of a delay before they can start making investments
Overall: A very useful investment tool that can be a bit slow to get started
E*TRADE Mobile – Rating: 4.2, Downloads: 1M
If there’s a name in investing that you know, it’s probably E*TRADE. At least, that was the case for me. You can get their usual services right from your mobile device. As a more experienced investor, I was really impressed with their loads of useful tools, including a dashboard you can customize and portfolio files that are quite easy to sort according to your data. I’m able to make my portfolios reflect my interests and sort through them with minimum problems. I’ve found that it’s also possible to deposit checks and pay bills right from the app, so it’s almost like investing and banking in one. Similar to the previous one, E*TRADE’s is also good for beginners and more experiences traders alike. If you’re new, I recommend checking educational videos that break everything down into simple terms so you can get the basics before you start.
Something that I have found to be particularly annoying is that the app logs you out if you’re inactive for some time. I realize it’s a security reason, but it does become a bit tiring when you have to sign in every time although you are semi-active. But, I acknowledge that this feature is there to keep the information safe from hackers, so in the end, I do think it is worth the hassle in order to keep all of my financial information protected.
Pros: Many types of sortable data for keeping track of your portfolio, educational videos
Cons: You have to sign back in every time you want to use the app
Overall: Useful, and good for intermediate investors as long as you don’t mind signing into your account when you want to use the app
Barron’s – Rating: 4.6, Downloads: 50K
Unlike the other apps I’ve shared above, this one is not designed to help you make investments, but rather, to help you keep up with all of the latest news in the world of finance. The reason I decided to include this one is that you can easily discover your next possible investment opportunities by referencing trusted, professional insights about business and the financial markets. It’s actually very simple to find information about emerging markets and browse through helpful charts to plan out potential investments. If you like the concept of an investment calculator – something I highly recommend myself – you can use the charts to help calculate your own investments.
When it comes to investing, being the person with the most knowledge is key. As I continued to use Barron’s, it didn’t take me long to discover that it is a great way to get in-depth coverage of business and finance news. I particularly loved the accessibility of the user interface, although it could honestly be considered overly simplistic. However, what it lacks in design it definitely makes up for in content, and isn’t that what we’re really after anyway?
Pros: Get all the latest finance news at your fingertips
Cons: An overly simplistic design makes the app appear a bit elementary
Overall: A solid app for finding out what is happening with financial markets even though it’s a bit overly-simplified
In Conclusion
At the end of the day, whether you’re a seasoned investor or a stock newbie, you’re going to want the best investments at the touch of a finger. Believe it or not, this is actually possible with these easy to use investment apps. Keep up with daily investments using Robinhood, dive deep into your portfolio with E*TRADE, and stay on top of the market news with Barron’s. I truly hope these selections, which have worked so well for me, will also help you along your journey to the perfect portfolio!
