Virtual Assistant
The rise of small businesses (SMBs) and startups has led to an influx of new jobs. One of which is the virtual assistant. Virtual assistants have been a cost-effective solution for businesses that are looking to maximize their output as efficiently as possible. Entrepreneur highlights how important the virtual assistant has been to SMBs, as it gives businesses extra help by handling their clerical responsibilities. This lets SMBs focus on other things, as the virtual assistants take care of the rest. So what does it take to be a virtual assistant? Well, organization skills will be the key as you’ll be handling tasks such as producing emails, inputting data, and sometimes even researching the businesses’ clients. As an added bonus, this job can be done from anywhere as companies usually outsource for these types of things, which means you won’t have to report to the office.
Social Media Influencer or Content Creator
IIt’s safe to say that social media has changed the way we live our lives. Whether it be Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, social media has been completely integrated into our daily activities – so much so that it’s hard to imagine a world without it. Nowadays, social media has branched out across industries, and is no longer is it just a form of entertainment that we use to pass the time. No, for some people social media has become a job. Gone are the days where posts on social media were nothing but rants from idle minds. Social media influencers and content creators have changed the game. An article on Petal Card mentions how influencers can create digital empires by creating an aesthetic that attracts followers and brands alike. And it seems to have worked out as Wired reveals that influencer marketing has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry. There are no signs of slowing down, as influencers continue to partner up with brands who want them to endorse their product. Now, the only catch here is that there is no “guide” on becoming an influencer or content creator. No one really has the formula for becoming an influencer. The most you can do is to create something you like and hope that it finds an audience.
Be a Barista
Lastly, no matter how cliché it is, a job in the service industry is still a good side hustle. Being a barista and working with craft coffee is a particularly appealing option. And with the coffee market estimated to be worth around $85 billion by 2025 you will never need to look far for a job. But other than the promising outlook for the industry, what are the other reasons to moonlight as a barista? Well, depending on the state you’re in the tips can be quite good as well. States such as West Virginia and Mississippi give the biggest tips at 17.4% of the total bill. Tips will quickly add up and you’ll find yourself with a lot of extra cash on your hands if you choose to be a part-time barista.
